Stan Fischler

Stan Fischler (born March 31, 1932) is a historian of hockey and the New York City Subway, as well as a broadcaster, author, and professor.
For his hockey knowledge, Fischler known as “The Hockey Maven,” by the hockey community. With over 60 years of experience in the industry, the proud Brooklynite is adored by fans and personnel around the league for his old-school punch lines.
He can be seen beside Al Trautwig during MSG hockey intermissions for the New York Islanders, New Jersey Devils, and New York Rangers on MSG and MSG Plus. He also provides general hockey analysis on MSG and writes columns for the network's website. In 2009, Fischler began hosting a feature, "Five For Fischler", on ''Hockey Night Live!'' which lists his Top Five in a random hockey topic.〔(Stan Fischler Bio on MSG.com )〕 In the 1980s, he was a hockey commentator for ''The Radio Show'' on CBC Radio in Canada.〔"CBC Radio's Inside Track Is Off Track". His most famous subway book is ''Uptown, Downtown''.
